I loved the Salmon dinner! It was cooked just right and topped with a tasty crab and cream sauce! Yum!
The margs were ok, and the "rj martini" was a little weak. Great location on the corner. Lots of choices and what seemed like a friendly group of staff working.
Passion fruit Margarita. I
should not have to say more, but I will.
The margaritas were fab– no doubt about it. I had passion fruit and my husband had mango and both were delicious and alcoholic– just the way I like my margs!
The food was delicious as well! Guacamole was fresh and fantastic, as was the "pollo a la parrilla cubierta con camarones y la cangrejo" – which was not only a mouthful to say, but a large portion of deliciousness. My husband of course opted for the extra healthy enchilada– which he loved.
Our waiter was also very nice and quite hilarious. As a bonus our hotel (The Hyatt) gave us a gift certificate for a free appetizer! I'd def. check out RJ's again when in the area.

I am from Kansas City and recently visited Dallas. Even though we have a heavily populated Hispanic area with TONS of Mexican Restaurants, I have never encountered one such as this.
I had the tamale plate and I thought it was very good. My beans were not the refried "baby poop" looking kind. They were actual whole beans in a kind of sauce that I really liked.
It is very hard to find Mexican food that hasn't been so "Americanized" that it all tastes the same. The presentation of the food and the taste of it makes this restaurant, in my book, a great choice if you are in the area.

Nice place. Friendly staff and much variety on the menu. Has traditional plates you see in every Mex restaurant and a large selection of specialty plates.
The portions were quite large so I would recommend sharing if you are unable to take leftovers home. Chicken, shrimp, grilled veggies, rice, tamale, chicken enchilada, chicken relleno, pork taco––all items off of two plates. All were excellent!
Would definitely eat there again.
